CSC & Intec team to offer telco billing systems

IT Industry - Strategy

Global IT services giant, CSC, is making a pitch into the telco BSS market in partnership with UK based OSS/BSS software company Intec.

The two have formed a joint partnership to provide "a comprehensive suite of BSS solutions to communications service providers (CSPs) looking to enhance their IT capabilities without taking on excessive costs." A key component is the Singl.eView billing system, which originated in Australia.

They say that the partnership will "provide world-class transformation & BSS revenue management competency, combining CSC's strategic consulting, systems integration and hosting services with Intec's award-winning portfolio of billing, rating, charging settlement solutions and market-leading mediation solutions."

According to Andy Thorburn, president, global markets for Intec, Intec and CSC have already delivered a joint solution for an emerging player in the mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) market.

Intec, listed on the London Stock Exchange claims to be "one of the world's fastest growing suppliers of business support systems. It has 60 of the worlds top 100 telcos among its 1000 plus customers and has over 1,600 staff and 31 offices in 24 countries.

Intec's Singl.eView convergent billing platform started life in the 1990s at the Atlanta billing system from BHA Computer. BHA was acquired by Saville, and Saville subsequently acquired by ADC, which in 2004 sold Singl.eView to Intec for $US75.4 million.  The company moved Singl.eView R&D from Brisbane to India in 2006. http://www.itwire.com/it-industry-news/market/5175.
