Civica, the UK owned but Australia-based provider of software for local governments, has acquired another company operating in the same market: MES.
MES (Management & Executive Software) is a leading provider of budgeting, reporting and performance management applications for local government in Australia.
Civica's software and services are used by more than 750 local government and related public sector organisations.
The two companies already have 30 clients in common.
The acquisition of Melbourne-based MES will expand the capability of Civica's Authority suite to include financial analysis, reporting and budgeting, strategic business planning and performance management.
"The move is in line with our strategic directions in the local government market, and further consolidates our position as the market leader in Australia,' said Peter Anderson, CEO, Civica International.
"Civica continues to expand both organically and through acquisition, and MES's skills and product set will complement our existing business activities. Their strong and proven reporting and analytical functionality further enhances the capabilities of our Authority solution," he added.
