Firewall vendor Check Point Software Technologies (Australia) Pty Ltd has restructured its local distribution model, appointingLAN Systems as its distribution partner in Australia.
According to Check Point, its decision to appoint one distributor will simplify the distribution of its core products and create operational efficiencies to benefit the channel.
“Check Point has doubled revenues in the Australian market over the past three years and was reaching saturation point under the previous business model – our goal was to ensure the local operation could maintain a 100 per cent channel model, whilst increasing the number of staff available to our customers,” said Scott McKinnel, Country Manager Australian and New Zealand for Check Point Software Technologies.
“Check Point has aggressive market expansion goals for 2006/07 and as part of our commitment to the channel we have realigned the business to ensure our channel partners are resourced to support all our sales and marketing initiatives.
“We have taken a proactive step to address the market opportunities and a single distribution model provides a lot of scope to maximise our sales, technical and marketing resources,” said McKinnel. “This decision will streamline the operations of our channel model which will aggregate skills specialisation, strengthen goal alignment and ensure broader geographical reach.”
