iiNet on track for 100,000 DSLAM customers

IT Industry - Strategy

iiNet has reported revenue of $120 million, EBITDA of $16.4 million and NPAT before amortisation of $6.0 million for the six months to 31 December 2005 and says it expects to have 100,000 customers on its own DLSAMs by July.

It now claims 185,000 broadband customers across Australia and New Zealand, 85,000 of these on its own DSLAMs, which it says has reduced its cost base from ~$50 to <$30 per customer per month). It is offering access speeds up to 24Mbps.

The company claims to have completed the migration of OzEmail customers to the iiNet network and billing system - an issue which last year caused severe overload in its call centres. The company says its new virtual call centre role-out is on schedule with Genesys equipment commissioned during February.

It claims that its VoIP product, launched in August 2005, has been "well received by customers," with 19,000 customers signing up. It claims to have carried over three million minutes of VoIP traffic in January.
