Shara Evans, the founder of telecoms market research company, Telsyte, has left to start a new research company and has taken Telsyte's research manager Richard Chirgwin with her.
She has been replaced by Warren Chaisatien, formerly research manager, wireless & mobility with IDC Australia.
Evans founded Telsyte in 1997 and sold it to Gibson Quai - AAS, part of publicly listed UXC Limited, in December 2002. She continued to run the business until December 2005.
Her new company is Market Clarity which she says "will deliver in-depth, high quality analysis of the telecommunications sector [giving] providers, industry bodies and private sector clients a more detailed understanding of the forces that affect their business success."
Chaisatien said one of his first priorities in his new role would be to hire a new research manager to replace Chirgwin. He said that Telsyte would continue to focus on "all segments of the Australian telecom market (fixed, mobile, broadband, data, IP) - and cover both supply-side (carriers, equipment vendors, solution providers) and demand-side (business and consumer end-users) of the market.
Chaisatien's former boss at IDC, research director telecommunications and consumer markets, Landry Fevre told iTWire that the company was in the process of seeking his replacement.
