Optus names first IP centrex customer

IT Industry - Strategy

18 months after formally launching its IP centrex service Optus has made its first customer announcement for the service: Group Event Travel, Australia's largest independent group travel management business.

However details given were scant, limited to a few bullet points of facts. These included: that Group Travel had deployed Optus IP centrex to "improve productivity and customer service whilst lowering operational and communications costs," that the service enabled the company to select its own IP centrex features mix "giving them greater functionality, including multimedia services such as point-to-point video calling, document sharing and unified communications."

Group Event Travel is claimed to be among the 100 fastest growing companies in Australia and has offices in Melbourne and Sydney. Many of its staff work offsite.
