Service Stream Secures $100M Telstra contract

IT Industry - Strategy

ASX-listed Service Stream Limited has been awarded a contract from Telstra for the maintenance of its networks in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

The three year contract, estimated to be worth in excess of $100 million, will require Service Stream to provide a range of services from simple pole and/or pit replacements to small network upgrades and optical fibre work on Telstra's external plant.

CEO, Patrick Flannigan, said the contact was structured along similar lines to the company's current installations and maintenance contract "allowing both Service Stream and Telstra to take advantage of the synergies and economies of scale when providing these critical services back to Telstra."

Service Stream's installations & maintenance contract, was expanded this year to include Telstra ADSL installations and exchange jumpering activities.

According to Service Stream, "Combined, with other existing contracts this [new contract] will see Service Stream completing more than 5,000 installations and maintenance tasks per day around Australia across a broad range of telecommunications customers."
