Following its acquisition of MCI, Verizon has formally launched its new global telecoms operation, Verizon Business.

Verizon Business claims to have offices in 75 countries and to have 94 percent of the Fortune 500 companies as its customers.

The current product portfolio comprises: data and IP networking including "a broad range of Internet access services, world class private IP, an MPLS-based global networking solution, one of the broadest and deepest ethernet footprints, optical network solutions and traditional data services such as frame relay, ATM and private line"; managed services; advanced voice applications; IT services; customer premises equipment (CPE).

The company says that during 2006, it will "introduce a continuing series of new products and services to help customers enhance their business practices and advance their competitive edge."
