There have been recent reports of how a Twitter scam has affected some well known UK politicians, issuing embarrassing Tweets from their personal accounts. Whilst these headlines may seem amusing, Lloyd Borrett, the Marketing Manager at AVG (AU/NZ), says it is worth considering the potential impact of this type of scam on your business reputation.

Enterprise Content Management developer, TOWER Software, has acquired web content management technology from Australian developer Rapid Web Solutions. TOWER Software, which has ambitions to list with an IPO, plans to deliver integrated, world class ECM business solutions on its TRIM Context 6 platform.
TOWER Software expects strong demand from organisations seeking a WCM solution or a broader ECM solution suite with fully integrated WCM functionality.
"To satisfy our expansion plans we knew we'd have to increase our ownership of ECM technologies. We researched available WCM solutions around the world and selected the Australian-developed Rapid Web Publisher. It is an excellent fit for our customers and our ECM solution, TRIM Context 6," Martin Harwood, CEO TOWER Software, said.
"I am confident that the majority of our existing customers will adopt our new WCM as part of their ECM solution. I expect our revenues to increase by 30-35% in 2006 which is about three times the growth expected in the ECM marketplace by leading industry analyst Forrester," Harwood said.
Rapid Web's next generation technology, developed on Microsoft's .NET platform, is expected to provide TOWER Software with a WCM that will shorten web site development times, facilitate the addition of content on web sites and provide a high return on investment for a low cost of ownership.
With the sale of its principal technology asset to TOWER Software, Rapid Web Solutions will refocus its business from software development to service delivery. The company will join TOWER Software's Partner Program to deliver its ECM implementation services to the world market next year.
"I welcome Rapid Web Solutions as a new partner. Their knowledge of the WCM market combined with their understanding of the need to manage information will prove invaluable to TOWER Software and our customers," said Harwood.
"This transaction is very positive for our company and our customers," said Nick Nicolaou, CEO of Rapid Web Solutions. "The way that the ECM and Web Content Management markets are merging, the need to be aligned with a top global ECM company is paramount to success. This new partnership with TOWER Software will contribute to our customers' success through continued support and new opportunities to improve the management and delivery of information."
