Optus to trouser 160 million Dodo dollars

IT Industry - Strategy

Dodo will spend $160 million over the next four years on wholesale mobile services from Optus.

Optus has announced a four-year, $160 million deal to provide wholesale mobile (voice and broadband) services to Dodo.

Describing Dodo as a 'key wholesale partner', Optus wholesale and satellite managing director Vicki Brady said "this deal with Dodo cements us as the number one wholesaler of choice for mobile and mobile broadband."

Dodo managing director Larry Kestelman said "This deal demonstrates the strong relationship we have with the Optus team and their continued commitment to partnering with Dodo."

He added "We are delighted with the performance of our mobile business which continues to be supported by Optus' ongoing mobile network investment to sustain the roll out of our products."

Optus' mobile network now covers 96% of the population.

The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman's Connect.Resolve report for the first half of 2009 said the number of complaints about Dodo "remain consistently low" given the size of its customer base.
