Former Service Stream CEO to head construction of NBN

NBN Co has named Patrick Flannigan as head of construction. He will be based in Melbourne and will report to NBN Co executive chairman Mike Quigley.

He was previously the founding managing director and CEO of Service Stream where he oversaw 5000 technical and engineering staff in the telecommunications and broader infrastructure sectors, growing the company both organically and through a number of major acquisitions.

Before that he was the founder and chairman of Integrated Maintenance Services (2000-2004) and general manager of Skilled Engineering Ltd (1990-2000).

Quigley said: "Patrick has considerable experience at the highest level of the engineering and construction industries where he has distinguished himself in a number of senior and challenging roles. His expertise will be invaluable when applied to this critical role overseeing the build of the large, complex infrastructure project that is the National Broadband Network."
