TransACT expanding FTTP footprint

IT Industry - Strategy

An agreement with the ACT Land Development Agency will allow TransACT to deliver FTTP services to an additional 1,800 homes.

A new deal between TransACT and the ACT Land Development Agency will give the carrier access to medium density dwellings along the Flemington Road corridor in the northern part of the ACT.

This will be the first time TransACT has been able to provide wide-scale FTTP services to such home units.

"This agreement adds to TransACT's extensive FTTP coverage within the ACT, with many residents already connecting to TransACT's FTTP in the suburbs of Forde, Crace, Bonner and Franklin to take advantage of our next generation services," said TransACT CEO Ivan Slavich.

TransACT's FTTP services include up to 100Mbps ultra high speed broadband, telephony with free calls between TransACT customers, IPTV with over 60 channels, and the ability to bundle TransACT services with other utility services including electricity and natural gas.

TransACT recently launched its new "100% fibre" gateway in Forde (just north of the area covered by the new agreement) to provide voice, broadband, IPTV and radio frequency (RF) overlay products and services.
