Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
US retailers are in the habit of offering dramatically reduced prices on the day after Thanksgiving, the traditional start of the Christmas buying season. Apple's no exception, and this year its Australian customers are also in for savings.
Apple Australia has announced a one-day "shopping event" on Friday, November 27.
Unspecified sale prices will be offered at the Apple Online Store and to those who order via phone (133 622) between 00:01 and 23:59 on the day.
"Select offers" (details won't be available until the day) will be available at Apple Stores in Australia, but the catch is that not all sale products will be available in all stores, and the special prices only apply while stocks last.
On the other hand, during the Christmas shopping period Apple Stores will be offering a 'reserve and wrap' service - a bit like layby, but with gift wrapping and the option of picking up the items from whichever store is closest to where you'll be in the week before Christmas.
Gift wrapping will also be available in-store for Mac portables and iPods. This also applies to iPods purchased online or by phone, with free laser engraving as an option.
Apple Stores are located in Sydney (CBD and Chatswood), Melbourne (Chadstone and Doncaster), Brisbane (Chermside) and the Gold Coast (Robina).
So if you have an Apple purchase in mind - whether it's for yourself or as a gift - Friday might be the day to dig out the credit card.
