Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Optus has appointed Hugh Humphrey, formerly a senior Vodafone executive as marketing director, enterprise mobile and converged services in Optus Business and Jim Jaques as marketing director of its Consumer business.
Humphrey will be responsible for creating integrated enterprise mobility offerings for Optus’ corporate and government customers and spearheading Optus’ fixed and mobile convergence solutions. He most recently headed up Vodafone Australia’s business markets team where he was responsible for enterprise products, segments and brand covering the SoHo, SME and enterprise and government sectors.
In particular he played a lead role in the development and marketing of Vodafone Business One , the converged fixed, mobile and data communications product developed by Vodafone Australia in conjunction with Cisco and Research in Motion. Prior to joining Vodafone he worked in the consulting arms of PricewaterhouseCoopers and later IBM.
John Simon, managing director, Optus Enterprise and Business group, said: “Hugh will be responsible for managing an integrated sales and product marketing function within Optus Business enabling greater focus and superior execution on the tremendous growth opportunities we have in the enterprise mobility and convergence market.”
Prior to joining Optus, Jaques held a series of senior roles with the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Bell Mobility Cellular and Visa International. Michael Smith, managing director of Optus Consumer, said his appointment was the culmination of "an intensive global search.
