iTWire:
What is different for BrainShare 2010? Obviously the general structure will remain. For instance, I saw the announcement earlier in the year seeking people for an advisory panel.
Monney: "We did assemble an advisory panel for BrainShare 2010 earlier this year, and with its help we have come up with an exciting program. Novell CEO Ron Hovsepian and other company leaders will deliver keynote addresses. We will showcase a number of new solutions for collaboration, identity and security, as well as the latest version of SUSE Linux Enterprise and our systems management products.
"One of the biggest changes will be the renewed emphasis we're placing on training this year. There will be more than 150 technical breakout sessions, focusing on our core product offerings. We also will host more than 20 hands-on sessions, offering the type of “engineer-to-engineer” support that users were looking for and our advisory committee recommended. Overall, there will be more than 500 hours of in-depth technical sessions and hands-on training for our customers.
"Additionally, we are lowering the price by $300."
iTWire: Is BrainShare 2010 guaranteed to run? What support is there from senior management to ensure the event proceeds?
Monney: "Yes, BrainShare 2010 is booked and it will happen. We will host our event again in Salt Lake City, on March 21-25, and we will also be bringing BrainShare back to the EMEA market May 18-21. Senior management has pledged its full support for BrainShare 2010, and we fully expect to showcase the most exciting Brainshare conference ever."
iTWire: and what is the dominant theme for the event?
Monney: "The dominant theme for BrainShare 2010 is 'Making IT Work as One.'
"Training and education will be particularly important this year, with the more than 150 technical breakout sessions, and the more than 500 hours of technical sessions and hands-on training.
" 'Making IT Work As One' influences all that we do at Novell. We are becoming even more integrated with our entire ecosystem of partners. To ensure our BrainShare event fully reflects this theme, we have combined the Exhibitor Showcase and Technology Lab into something we're calling IT Central. The new 110,000-square-foot IT Central hub will centralize all of the latest innovative technology we have to offer as we make IT work as one. We're excited to have Novell solutions side by side with our partner solutions. The result is a physical manifestation of the kind of cohesion and integration that makes Novell such a valuable player in the marketplace."
What about others who depend on BrainShare?
