Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Telstra has signed what it says is its largest ever exclusive contract in the enterprise and government sector - a ten year deal with Coca Cola Amatil covering all CCA's telecommunications requirements.
Telstra CEO, David Thodey, said the new contract built on a long-term relationship between the two companies and followed the completion of a former five year telecommunications contract. "Telstra and CCA are both focused on changing the way people and organisations work. We look forward to playing a key role across CCA, from customer service distribution, contact centre solutions and mobile voice and data services." Mr Thodey said.
Telstra will provide a full range of telecommunications and managed services to CCA's 130 offices in Australia and become the preferred telecommunications provider for CCA's international operations.
Services to be provided will include:
- Telstra IP telephony that operates on the Telstra Next IP network
- Mobile voice and data services including mobile handsets, wireless broadband services and BlackBerry devices;
- A managed Cisco contact centre for CCA's six national contact centres;
- Managed computing (Telstra dedicated and utility hosting);
- Customer based Telstra resources for operations and billing.
Coca-Cola Amatil group managing director, Terry Davis, said technology innovation was a key component of the agreement with several trials already underway aimed at delivering the 'Coca-Cola Amatil Supply Chain of the Future,' which "underscores the company's strong and innovative investment in vending machines and coolers." This would likely include much greater use of wireless-based machine-to-machine communications to manage and monitor such equipment.
Davis added: "We want CCA to remain at the forefront of technologies that help our team deliver great customer service and improve employee productivity while at the same time address the challenges of sustainability, brought about by changing carbon trading regulations."
Thodey said a shared vision to improve productivity at both the employee and enterprise level would be central to the relationship. "Through Telstra's integral role in providing a whole of business ICT infrastructure, we expect CCA will benefit from cost savings, sustainability improvements and increased productivity."
