Allphones to resell MobiData mobile apps

IT Industry - Strategy

One of Australia's largest retailers of mobile phones and mobile products, Allphones, is to distribute mobile phone applications from ASX-listed Fusia's subsidiary MobiData.

Allphones will initially launch with two of MobiData's suite of products, MobiPod and MobiChat. MobiPod is a disaster recovery and contact management solution for mobile phones. Contacts are automatically backed up on MobiData's secure server over the mobile phone network every 24 hours. These contacts can be edited via MobiData's customer website and/or automatically uploaded onto a new handset via the mobile phone network should the existing handset be lost, damaged or upgraded.

MobiChat makes PC instant messaging mobile by providing the same experience as instant messaging on the PC. It works from mobile to mobile and mobile to PC. The customer uses exactly the same MSN or Yahoo account name and password to log in and has just the same buddy list as if he or she was logging in on
a PC. According to MobiData, "It's a lot more fun and cheaper than SMS."
