The Federal Department of Finance and Administration has awarded Commander Communications a $1.8 million contract to install a Siemens HiPath 4000 IP PABX and Siemens ProCenter 5.1 contact centre system along with 1400 IP phones for its four Canberra sites.
According to Mike Doering, business development manager, Commander, "The key to this win was the flexibility that the Siemens solution offered the Department of Finance, which allows an easy migration path to new technology and applications in the future."
The HiPath 4000 connects the central location to the other three offices over a fibre optic cable via a wide area network IP link, enabling the system to be centrally managed via a web-based management tool.
