Synnex expands HQ

IT Industry - Strategy

IT distributor Synnex has announced that work is about to begin on a major expansion of its Melbourne headquarters.

Synnex Australia, a subsidiary of Asia Pacific's largest IT distributor Synnex Technology International, is expanding its Melbourne headquarters to accommodate the 100 additional staff the company expects to hire over the next five years.

The enlarged premises will also provide new facilities including a training theatre and a larger boardroom.

The $2 million project follows the move of Synnex's Brisbane, Perth and Sydney offices to new and larger premises.

"We are committed to providing additional value-add services to our customers and have kept the cost of doing business down. We know that if we support our customers and help them to increase their market share, we will also grow," said Kee Ong, CEO of Synnex Australia.

"It is important for us to invest in infrastructure to support our growth here in Australia and take a long term view of the future."

The company has also recently spent $500,000 to add 12 trucks to its fleet, which now numbers 40.

Brands recently added to Synnex's distribution roster include TiVo, Navigon, and Gateway.
