One possible action would be for the judge to dismiss Psystar's case altogether and rule in Apple's favor -- this is what Apple asks for in the letter.
Another is "evidentiary inference," which is the conclusion by the judge or jury that the destroyed evidence was unfavorable to Psystar and to make decisions accordingly.
Furthermore, the letter claims any destruction of evidence was in direct violation of the judge's discovery order.
That raises the possiblity of findings of contempt against Psystar's principals.
The court has scheduled a hearing for August 20 to address the issue.
