Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
PGP Corporation, a global provider of enterprise data protection technology, has named Nick Riley as regional manager for Asia Pacific, based in Sydney in anticipation of growing demand for its products.
According to Riley, “We are in a great position in Asia Pacific as the region hasn’t embraced government privacy legislation to the same extent as the US and the UK. Enterprises have been fairly reactive to date with their security, but this will change when security becomes mandated at a government level. Data encryption is very much an untapped market in this region and presents a tremendous opportunity for PGP Corporation.”
Riley was formerly the regional manager of global accounts for IT and networking infrastructure provider, NTT Communications Australia. PGP said that with his appointment, and that of senior sales engineer, Ben Fitzgerald, the company was "looking to take advantage of the growing concern and need for data protection in the Asia Pacific region, as data security and encryption increasingly become a priority for all corporate and government enterprises."
Lee Finck, vice president, worldwide channels at PGP, said: “Key market growth segments for PGP Corporation in Australia will focus on government, health care and financial services.”
PGP claims that its products are used by more than 80,000 enterprises, businesses, and governments worldwide, including 95 percent of the Fortune 100, 75 percent of the Fortune Global 100 and 51 percent of the UK FTSE 100 Index companies.
