BT Infonet, a global provider of managed network communications services for multinational entities has won the "2005 IP communications product of the year" award from Frost & Sullivan for its MPLS virtual private network service, dubbed Application Centric VPN.
BT Infonet says it developed AC VPN "to act as a distributed intelligent system that adapts to the overall bandwidth, performance and application performance targets defined by multinational corporations to achieve their operational business requirements."
AC VPN "allows for the dynamic optimisation of applications at each site, based not only on local conditions, but also on the conditions of the entire global network," an important capability for multinationals with sophisticated networking requirements, according to BT Infonet.
According to Frost & Sullivan industry analyst, ICT Europe, Fernando Elizalde, "BT Infonet has developed a superior VPN solution that incorporates application management and offers dynamic allocation of resources to support business objectives."
