PC maker, Dell, will hold a free computer recycling event at Cromer Public School in Sydney’s Northern Beaches on Saturday, 5 November.
Visitors to the school will be able to empty their garages and cupboards of any brand of computer, monitor, printer and even mice and drop them off for recycling.
According to Dell, the event is aimed at raising awareness in the community about how computer users can better protect the environment from some of the sensitive materials contained in their equipment.
The company recently unveiled expanded goals for recycling, environmental design and energy efficiency, including a 50% product recovery increase.
“Environmental stewardship is important to Dell and to our customers. This event is a good way to help people find out about the importance of recycling computer equipment responsibly,” said Joe Kremer, managing director, Dell Australia and New Zealand. “We’re spreading the message that no computer should go to waste.”
