In February, Telstra announced Trujillo would step down as CEO on 30 June "to return home to the United States." His successor, David Thodey, was announced last Friday .

In March, former group managing director, strategic marketing, Bill Stewart left Telstra "to return to his home and family in the United States."

Former COO Greg Winn left the company in January "to return to his home in the United States."

Trujillo, Stewart and Winn were widely referred to by the Australian media as 'the three amigos'.

According to an ABC Radio report, Trujillo "thought the characterisation was distasteful and would not necessary be acceptable language in the United States."

Telstra chairman Donald McGauchie also resigned last week, and was replaced by Catherine Livingstone. McGauchie was seen by some as a political appointee of the previous government.
