HP also announced a deal with major UK supermarket chain Tesco.
The installation of HP publishing systems at Tesco Extra stores will allow customers to order photos and related products such as calendars, greeting cards, and books.
The operation will be largely self-service via touchscreen kiosks, leaving staff free to concentrate on production.
"This agreement with HP further demonstrates Tesco's commitment to offering customers a broad range of professional and memorable products and printing services at affordable prices, said Graham Harris, Tesco's commercial hardlines director.
"Tesco chose HP for the reliability of its photo centre and its quality of output, which match the high level of service we guarantee to our customers," he added.
Another announcement regarding the retail market involves the sale of customised licensed merchandise from HP's online Image Store.
The range includes items such as posters, calendars and greeting cards featuring licensed content from CBS (Star Trek), Dr Seuss, Marvel Entertainment, the NBA and Nickelodeon.
