All these figures are subject to court approval.
Several deadlines apply to members of the class.
In order to receive a payment, they must submit the
claim form by June 10, 2009.
Anyone that wants to opt out of the class and retain the right to sue or continue to sue Apple over this matter has until March 27, 2009 to exclude themselves from the settlement.
And those remaining in the class but who wish to object to some aspect of the settlement can do so up to March 27, 2009.
The fairness hearing is scheduled for April 28, 2009. Whether the judge will approve the settlement and how long the decision will take remain to be seen.
One good thing about the settlement is that it actually provides a cash payout to those affected. Such actions can result in paydays for the lawyers while class members only receive vouchers that can be used towards future purchases from the company involved.
