When “spy shots” of the Kogan Agora phone
were unveiled , some were concerned that the “bezel” around the 2.5-inch screen was far bigger than anticipated.
I remember reading from some developers that they were unwilling to redesign their applications to fit on this smaller sized screen.
Clearly, as Ruslan Kogan has indicated, this has been of concern to him also, compelling him to ditch the existing Agora and Agora Pro designs and come up with a completely new one.
It’s obvious that this must have been a very difficult decision for Ruslan Kogan to make, and given that he says manufacturing had already commenced, he must be taking a financial hit in scrapping the model.
I wonder if the existing phones can be sold via eBay or otherwise made available at a cheaper price to anyone that still wants this original model?
Kogan says that: “All customers who pre-ordered the Agora will receive a full refund.”
Ruslan says that he will “continue to blog about and discuss the redevelopment of the Agora” at the
Kogan blog. If you're interested in knowing more and following the discussion, the Kogan blog will be the place to visit.
