Telstra adds 'œBigPond Health' to the BigPond lineup

Partnering with “Australia’s leading online health site”, Virtual Medical Centre, Telstra is adding the “BigPond Health” category to its burgeoning content collection at the BigPond website.

Although Telstra’s detractors and competitors will likely always wish it the worst of bad health, Telstra’s healthy collection of content has grown even larger thanks to the addition of a new “BigPond Health” section.

The new section was added in December 2008, and despite being online for but a few weeks has already topped the “Neilsen NetView” charts in the “Health, Fitness and Nutrition” subcategory of the "Family and Lifestyle" category to rank as the “number one health site in the country”.

Telstra partnered with Australian online health site, the “Virtual Medical Centre”, to bring the BigPond Health site to life.

Telstra Media Group Managing Director, Justin Milne, said “An apple a day may keep the doctor away but by also visiting BigPond you can now find a wealth of easy to understand health and wellbeing information.

“BigPond Health provides the latest news and information about diseases, pharmaceuticals, practical remedies, healthy living and diet tips.

“There are more than 22,000 pages filled with specialised information from 1,000 medical specialists including educational videos, a medical dictionary and interactive tools making BigPond Health a really useful interactive and informative experience,” he said.

Telstra says the site provides “19 categories with medical information about prescription drugs, disease information, medical treatment, latest medical trials, latest medical research, disease symptoms, medical support for patients and latest medical news.”
