Unknown new ISP, myKP, offers broadband 'œwith no download caps'

myKP says that the “The system works in the same fashion as myKP Wi-Fi hotspots. Users will have access to the Internet via a login page with the added benefit of the same broadband credentials also providing access to all myKP Free Wi-Fi hotspots.”
 
Kaloudis explains that: “The focus of the Hero Platform leans more towards content, applications and media. It’s continuously evolving into something that places less and less significance on the access and more on what can be achieved with it.”
 
myKP claims the service is “fully standards based and there are no download caps with one simple pricing plan.”  

In addition, myKP says: “As part of the Hero Platform users will soon have access to a number added features including myKP FM, myKP TV, myKP Music and a number of other myKP initiatives, including voice.”
 
“For us the starting point is one plan at $79.95 per month. The full product details will be released on Australia Day and anyone interested can pre-register for an information pack via our website,” said Kaloudis.

1.     What speeds?
Initial access speeds will vary depending on location with a mixture of ADSL and ADSL2+. However we anticipate making ADSL2+ access widely available.  
 
2.     Whose network are you using?
We use a combination of suppliers. Doing this provides us the ability to aggregate services which permits us the ability to offer the best possible access on a per location basis.
 
3.     Why limited locations?
As part of our initial offer to our Wi-Fi communities only, we will be asking our first group of users to participate in the trial of a number of new and exciting services. It’s our hope they will participate in beta test them with us prior to their full release.
 
4.     Will you be offering Telephony?
Not initially.  However, we have plans to introduce a range of Telephony options in the near future.
 
5.     Is there advertising?
Yes. Initially advertisers will have the ability to advertise on our Login Pages. We will continue to work with our advertisers and customers to refine the advertising component of the service as well as make it relevant.
 
6.     What technology are you using?
Our platform uses standards based technology. We utilise readily available technology with no preference to any one vendor or architecture.
 
7.     Are you going wireless as well?
Yes. We have plans to roll out number of wireless options were suitable and beneficial to our users.
 
8.     Are you going naked?
Not at this stage. Naked is generally used as a ‘marketing term’. Although it is broadly assumed to represents a substantial cost saving to end users, our investigations indicate otherwise. We don’t feel there is enough of a compelling value proposition at this stage.
 
9.     When will you make it available to everyone?
There is no exact time frame set, however we anticipate it won’t be too long.
