Mobile operators get fixed price spectrum renewal in $3b Government windfall

The Government has offered Australia's three mobile operators, and vividwireless, renewal of their existing spectrum allocated on 15 year licences in the late 90s and early 2000s at set prices, while the Government expects to rake in $3 billion.

The Daily Mail quotes a UK telecom watchdog Ofcom spokesman as saying that "It wouldn't have cost anything to call these numbers because they are not real" although that did not stop fans from complaining. One told the newspaper that "I phoned the Doctor's phone number but there was just an annoying network message. What's the point in showing a phone number if you're not gonna use it?!"

Perhaps someone should explain the difference between fiction and reality to these fans lest they live in fear of an attack by the Cybermen or Daleks. Ironically, the series finale was all about the attempt by Davros to destroy reality itself.

The good news is he didn't succeed, the Doctor survived and defeated both Davros and the Daleks...
