IBM seeks ban on ASUStek imports

IBM has asked the US International Trade Commission to impose an import ban on certain ASUStek products.

Affected products include notebook and desktop computers, servers, routers and various computer components.

IBM alleges that ASUStek is violating three of its patents covering PC power supplies, automatic fan speed control, and a "method and apparatus for making a cluster of computers appear as a single host on a network".

According to IBM officials, the company has tried to negotiate a licensing agreement without success.
