RAD Data Communications' EtherAccess products have been certified as fully compliant with the Metro Ethernet Forum MEF-9 and MEF-14 Ethernet service standards.
The certification applies to the company's ETX Ethernet network termination units (E-NTUs), RICi series of Ethernet-over-E1/T1 and Gigabit Ethernet-over-STM-1/OC-3c NTUs, Egate channelized Ethernet gateways, IPmux TDM pseudowire gateways, and Link Access Ethernet first mile DSL access devices.
"With the granting of MEF-9 and MEF-14 certification to RAD's Ethernet access solutions, carriers can rest assured that they will be able to deliver uniform Ethernet services across their infrastructure, be it DSL, PDH, SDH/SONET, or fiber," said Ron Agam, senior product line manager at RAD Data Communications.
The certification was performed by Iometrix. "We are very pleased to certify that RAD's EtherAccess product line meets MEF-9 and MEF-14 standards," states Bob Mandeville, president of Iometrix. "Together, these standards are designed to accelerate the worldwide adoption of Carrier Ethernet services and represent a major step forward into turning Ethernet into a true carrier-class technology."
