Former Intel high flyer, Mike Fister, president and CEO, Cadence Design Systems Inc is back again in India.
Just eight months ago, he was here on a very
low profile visit, perhaps to test the waters but today he is back,
ready to walk the talk and enthrall the 1000-plus audience gathered to
hear him speak.
The ex-Intel server man, known for his apparent fondness of Armani
suits, and of Grey Goose martinis with blue cheese olives, broke bread
with leading CEOs of chip design companies on Wednesday evening.
On Thursday morning, Fister kicked off the CDNLive India 2006 Cadence
user conference in Bangalore, with his keynote address, “Accelerating
Innovation in an Accelerated Marketplace”.
Fister who spent 17 years at Intel Corp, where he was senior vice
president and general manager of the company's enterprise platforms
group, was instrumental in garnering a significant market share for
Intel in its enterprise category and introduced the Itanium processor
family in virtually every performance category.
Today, as the head honcho of one of the world’s leading EDA (electronic
design automation) firms, Fister is excited about the India opportunity.
“Electronics is touching every possible aspect of our world. Increasing
disposable incomes in emerging economies like India have led to a
burgeoning demand for electronics and Cadence is proud to be in India,
where our customers and their customers are,” Fister said.
