Australian global specialist technology, operations and risk consultancy, IQ Group, has expanded its operations with the opening of a new office in Brisbane, and the appointment of a principal consultant to head up the Queensland business.

The CEO of IQ Group, Graham Sammells, said that growth in the superannuation and wider financial services sector, and industry adaption to new infrastructure and regulatory requirements, meant that industry participants now required access to the company’s expertise on a more regular basis in Brisbane.

"We have been operating in the Australian marketplace for over 12 years.  We have been remotely servicing our clients in Queensland and have decided that now is the right time to invest in local presence. We are truly delighted and excited to be writing a new chapter in our local operations and strategic roll-out to this market."

Sammells announced the appointment of Ron Mullins as Principal Consultant for Queensland “responsible for growing the team as well as having direct delivery responsibility on consulting projects.”

Mullins joins IQ Group from recent roles at SunGard as principal consultant, SunSuper as operations specialist service delivery manager, senior project manager with the Queensland Government, and team leadership at CitiStreet.

Mullins has experience in management, including project management expertise within the financial services and government sectors, and is a member of financial services industry groups including the ASFA E-commerce Policy Sub-Committee and ATO Working Party groups.
