Ruckus Wireless says that, globally it achieved "triple digit revenue growth throughout 2011" and that ANZ revenue almost quadrupled.

"Ruckus ANZ has doubled its partner numbers in the last 18 months as well as appointing a new Australian distributor six months ago," the company said.

Country manager, Carl Jefferys, said: "Today, mobile Internet users are sending more data in one month than in the whole of 2008 and with such predictions as, by 2015, 80 percent of the seven billion connected nodes will be smartphones and tablet computers, Ruckus' 'Smart Wi-Fi' technology is in demand in verticals hungry for the right coverage and consistency.

His comments come in the wake of Cisco's Mobile Virtual Network Index released earlier the week that found 33 percent of global handset and tablet traffic had been offloaded onto the fixed network through Wi-Fi or femtocells in 2011.

"We are dominating the kindergarten to year 12 market, essential Wi-Fi refreshes in the hospitality space are opting for a Ruckus solution and, in the more challenging public venue access arena, Ruckus is also delivering on essential consistency and availability where venues are bombarded with mobile devices."

Ruckus CEO, Selina Lo, will visit Australia later this month deliver the keynote presentation at Communications Alliance's Broadband and Beyond 2012 conference on 22 February.

Ruckus Wireless adds two executives

Meanwhile, Ruckus Wireless has appointed Renilda Saguil as sales manager for New Zealand and Daryl Horsfall as senior pre-sales systems engineer for the ANZ region.

Saguil has held senior roles in sales, channel management and product management for Alcatel-Lucent in the Philippines and New Zealand where she was account director responsible for Gen-i and Telecom New Zealand. She has also worked in sales and partner management positions with Globe Telecom and Bayan Telecommunications in the Philippines.

Horsfall was the technical director at Australian network equipment Haliplex Communications Systems for eleven years and has had senior support roles in Computer Associates, Datacraft Australia and Data General.
