Primus has gained accreditation to deliver fixed-line telephone services to customers on the NBN and is now fully accredited for both broadband and telephone services.
Primus Australia's CEO, Tom Mazerski, said that, along with its broadband plans, the company would now develop new voice-only plans as well as a selection of voice and broadband bundles that are specifically suited to fibre customers.
'We understand that customers on the NBN will have varying needs. The fact that we already have a voice network in place with many voice-only customers places us in a unique position to lead the way ensuring that under the NBN, voice consumers are treated fairly and responsibly.
'Primus Australia will continue to work closely with NBN Co to develop a high quality and affordable NBN voice-only product that can be rolled out across Australia to consumers who only want a voice service. This may include pensioners and lower income earners who can't afford or don't need or want an NBN fibre broadband service,' Mazerski said.
Primus plans to shortly begin trialling voice services through the NBN UNI-V ports under a project that Mazerski says aims to supply high quality and affordable voice products and services in all areas across Australia where the NBN fibre network is deployed.
