In what sense is a smartphone easier to use than a tablet running the same OS? It has a smaller screen, so it is either harder to read or displays less text, and it is harder to interact with objects on a smartphone unless they are displayed at the same size on both types of device, again limiting the amount of content that can appear on the smartphone's scree.
It would probably be more accurate to say that a smartphone is genuinely pocket-sized and so is potentially always available for use.
