Global data centre consulting and managed services company, GlassHouse Technologies, has established a regional subsidiary company in Australia to support its entry into the Asia Pacific market.
The managing director for the new Sydney office and subsidiary company, John Merryman, said today that, with the launch of the company, GlassHouse saw a tremendous opportunity to advance key partnerships with global technology firms in the APAC region.
'In a rapidly changing data centre market, GlassHouse is introducing a unique value proposition to Asia-Pacific partners and customers. We are focused on improving data centre energy efficiency, as a direct result of our regional capabilities already in practice across the world.'
According to Merryman, the new subsidiary will support the company's entrance into the Asia-Pacific market with an initial focus on a select subset of the global capabilities. 'This office will be dedicated to the development of partnerships and customer relationships with local organisations with a need for GlassHouse's data centre and next generation virtualisation services. Both of these service areas are rich in unique tools and methodologies that help drive efficiency, predictability and cost savings inside customer environments.'
Merryman said GlassHouse's data centre services include migration and consolidation services, as well as a close look at energy efficiency. 'For data centre migrations, GlassHouse's unique Reflector software and proprietary Link Planning methodology allow customers to map application to infrastructure relationships, and perform risk-based planning and migrations for data centre consolidation,' Merryman said, adding that for customers aiming to achieve greener IT environments, GlassHouse's Energy Proficiency Impact Analysis 'provides visibility into the current cost and efficiency of data centre infrastructure environment and offers recommendations to streamline assets and shrink the customer's carbon footprint.'
Mark Shirman, president and CEO of GlassHouse Technologies, said the company had expanded significantly in the past two years, 'both in terms of the services we provide and the regions we serve.'
Shirman said the new subsidiary will enable GlassHouse to 'foster closer relationships with customers and partners in the Asia-Pacific region, offering them greater access to the services needed to drive necessary infrastructure transformations.'
