Konica Minolta OPS launched in Australia

Konica Minolta Business Solutions today launched its Optimised Print Services (OPS) offering in Australia which the company claims revolutionises the way businesses manage their print hardware and streamlines business processes and brings significant cost savings.

According to Konica Minolta national manager managed print services, Iain Barnfield, the new consulting service analyses how a company is using all its print and multifunction devices and then develops a tailored solution to monitor, manage and optimise printing services.  'It is designed for, but not limited to, companies operating at least ten separate devices and typically employing more than 50 people.'

'We have listened to what the market wants and have sought to improve on similar services offered by our competitors.  This is a consultative service, designed around customer needs, yet supported by a common global software interface.  It provides a total outsourced solution to managing your print requirements, simplifying reporting, saving costs and reducing administration.

'We want to be recognised as an innovator and leader in the managed print services market by 2012.  I am pleased to say we have already had several enquiries from major Australian companies for this service and are currently implementing a global contract.'

Barnfield said OPS consists of three phases, which are scalable to suit a customer's requirements:

Audit current printer usage, understand future needs and likely demands, identify total cost of ownership, analyse environmental and financial savings, design a print solution to meet business needs

'¢    Implement

Transition to new system, establish reporting requirements and interface, product delivery and integration, staff training and change management

'¢    Operate

Continuous remote monitoring of all network and local devices, consolidated budgeting, reporting and invoicing, automated delivery of consumables and remote and onsite servicing.

Barnfield said OPS is being offered directly in Australia and also via the company's IT channel dealers and resellers, who, he adds, will be provided with tools and training to help support the additional revenue stream.
