Building company, Porter Davis, has completed the full integration of SAP technology into its business processes in what the company says is an investment in future driven recognition of SAP's benefits to customers, suppliers and internal operations and cementing its position as a 'market leader in corporate technical innovation.'
According to Porter Davis director, Paul Wolff, the SAP implementation is already showing results with increased efficiency across all business practices. 'The company's improved professionalism has manifested in process simplification and increased transparency, providing immediate and meaningful assistance to customers within the market. The ability to provide clients with instant 24seven access to dynamic pricing information, over 15,000 specific design bank options and an individual construction process indicator has presented customers with unparallel real-time services.
'The new home experience can be financially and emotionally stressful; this technology opens communication channels and streamlines the entire process, increasing customer satisfaction.
'We have had customers comment on how professional we are because we're using SAP. If they know of SAP, they know implementing it represents a significant commitment to world class software and requires considerable investment, both financially and in retraining.'
Wolff said the adoption of SAP has also allowed Porter Davis to respond to demand from the building industry for the simplification of invoicing and compliancy practices. 'Motivated to create tools that were usable, our technical team consulted with trades people and suppliers to produce practical and relevant software. Driven by industry demand we have been able to replace manual invoicing with a unique electronic system that allows for automated weekly payments based upon job stage completion.'
According to Wolff, 'the vast optimising impact of SAP processes had also reached internal business practices, with a 400% saving of time cost on report generating. Increased employee productivity and accountability are attributed to the streamlining of internal processes which will have a positive impact on the financial bottom line of the company.'
