Construction needs cloud flexibility

Australia’s embattled construction sector could benefit from cloud based information systems that can be switched on and off in lockstep with individual projects – with the exception of those organisations based in remote areas like the Kimberleys.

Online advertising revenues show significant rebound

IT Industry - Market

The latest Internet advertising revenue report by PricewaterhouseCoopers shows a significant rebound in online advertising revenue.

According to the PricewaterhouseCoopers report released today, the advertising downturn through most of 2009 has vanished.

Revenue for Q4 2009 (the latest data) has exceeded the previous highest-ever quarter (Q4 2008).

Readers are encouraged to open the report and view the graph on the top of page 6 - this gives a very clear indication that the boom-times are back.

This chart indicates that following total world-wide online advertising revenue of $US6.1B in Q4 2008, the next three quarters showed $US5.47B, $US5.43B and $US5.50B.  Basically flat though most of 2009.

The fourth quarter rebounded to the highest-ever quarterly revenue of $US6.26B.

The report spends many pages analysing a variety of trends; however it does not connect revenue with total advertising impressions.  This author offers the suspicion that for the entire period, total advertising placements increased unabated, but the revenue per impression dropped significantly.

In the light of this, it would seem that the revenue per impression has finally started to increase again.

Yet more evidence that the GFC is waning significantly.
