Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
The Crown Entertainment Complex in Melbourne is installing a unified communication system including 7500 IP handsets. The project is being carried out by NetStar Australia.
The Crown complex includes a casino, two hotels (with a third scheduled to open next year) and many other facilities on a site the size of two city blocks.
The first stage of a project to install a unified communications system has been completed. It included a new contact centre to handle customer reservations and requests, and the installation of 2100 IP phones and messaging to the Crown Towers hotel and Crown administration staff.
Cisco hardware and technologies have been used in the project, which is expected to be completed by 2011.
"This is a significant win for NetStar and we are thrilled to be working closely with Crown on its exciting redevelopment," said Oliver Descoeudres, marketing director for NetStar Australia.
"NetStar has once again demonstrated its ability to design, build and maintain a complex unified communications solution that delivers seamless integration with an existing system, while capitalising on cost effectiveness," he added.
Crown executive general manager for management information systems, Ric Lamb, said "Crown was looking for a partner who understood our business needs and who could meet the challenge of integrating the new system with the existing PABX system during our period of reconstruction."
"NetStar delivered on this promise, combining experience with attention to detail to build a robust solution that delivered the required functionality securely," he added.
