3000 new business information management consultants at Capgemini

IT Industry - Market

Capgemini is to boost the number of its business information management consultants by 3000. This will be a 75% increase.

Consulting and outsourcing provider Capgemini has announced plans for a greater presence in the business information management market.

Capgemini will increase the number of its business information management consultants by 3000, but it is not clear how many of these will be new hires and how many will be redeployed from other areas within the company.

Nor is there any indication of where the new positions will be located.

The move will give Capgemini a team of 7000 business information management consultants around the world. 1000 of them will be based at a new centre of excellence to be located in India.

"Large enterprises are increasingly seeing the need to enhance the effectiveness and capabilities of existing business information systems in order to meet demanding compliance requirements and, in particular, to gain a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of business trends and performance,' said Paul Nannetti, Capgemini's general manager of global business information management services.

"We are seeing huge demand for these services and are mobilising our global infrastructure to meet them. To cater to the specific needs of key markets, we also offer sector-specific solutions for clients in the banking and insurance, life sciences, energy and utilities, retail and consumer product, and telecoms sectors," he added.

Capgemini's policy is to use the technology that is most appropriate to a client's needs, and to use a rightshoring approach to service delivery.

The company's business information management services include strategic information management blueprinting; data architecture, warehousing and management; data analysis and performance reporting; and electronic file management, retrieval and collaboration portals.

The company has foreshadowed additional major announcements in coming months concerning other specialisations.
