Shannon claims that Australian households are struggling
to manage their monthly internet quota, and that new AAPT research
reveals children dominate the family’s download limits.
“In research conducted for AAPT by Woolcott
Research last month on household download habits, one in three
Australian families admitted they exceeded their download quota every
month, with 50 per cent blaming it on their children’s internet habits.
“The research also revealed children are using household broadband
services primarily for internet research (97%), talking to their
friends via virtual communities such as MySpace and Facebook (63%) and
creating content for personal websites and blogs (33%).
“AAPT’s Unlimited 8-8 gives families more time to download movies,
music and television shows without worrying about reaching their
download limit. Whatever they want to do – pay bills, send photos, chat
to their friends and family on Facebook – they can do as much as they
like from 8pm – 8am.”
According to Shannon, AAPT has developed “affordable, value-for-money
plans allowing families to enjoy the best superfast broadband
experience without breaking the budget,” but she also says that
Australian households are still struggling to keep up with the cost of
technology, with 31 per cent finding it a burden on the family budget.
“Knowing what your household telecommunications’ costs are going to be
each month means that families have certainty about what they will be
charged. Coupled with unlimited download limits from 8pm-8am, AAPT
Unlimited 8-8 gives families all the benefits for less than $100 per
month.”
