The role of the Value Academy is to teach customers how to do this, and to share best practices.
Even customers that are already doing a good job are getting something from the process. Bouhdary pointed to a company in the oil and gas industry that determined it was already achieving 80 percent of the potential, and improved on that after adopting the SAP value model.
"When you measure something, you get the benefit," he observed.
The first of SAP's Value Academies for Australia and New Zealand will be aimed and public sector organisations and held in Brisbane on September 8-9.
An Academy will be held in Melbourne during October.
"The SAP Value Academy provides customers with the skills and the methodology to enable them to realise the value of their systems projects," said Greg Harbor, director of value engineering at SAP ANZ.
"The methodology complements SAP's Value Engineering service that identifies and quantifies value up front," he added.
