Netcat scores on the ground and in the air with contract wins

IT Industry - Market

Netcat, Australian content management solutions software provider, has scored twice with deals to buy its software secured with a NSW local government authority and the authority responsible for the safe operation of Australia’s civil aviation industry.

Steven Walker, Netcat's general manager Sales, said today the Mid-Western Regional Council in NSW had selected the Netcat Web Content Management (WCM) software and consulting services to facilitate a knowledge management strategy for the council, and the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) would use the software as the solution for an enterprise level web content management system.

In the case of the regional council, Walker said the council’s knowledge management strategy had been initiated in order to capture, classify, manage, and distribute the vast amount of information available within the Council, including “that residing in the experience of council staff.

“The project will involve implementation of a new Intranet to address the internal information needs of Council as well as redeveloping the public website in order to address constituent needs.

“Netcat is no newcomer to the local government sector having delivered many WCM solutions to Councils over the last 5 years including Brisbane City Council, Adelaide City Council, Hobart City Council, Manningham City Council, and Snowy River Shire Council.”

Walker claimed that “in an era when air safety is paramount and recent incidents by major airlines have not instilled confidence in modern air travel,” CASA was being proactive in addressing the need for timely and accurate information dissemination.

“The objective of refining the CASA website is to effectively respond to the increasing need for CASA to undertake high quality communication initiatives. The CASA website is now seen as a key tool in disseminating regulatory and safety information to the industry.”
