Marshal8e6 deal with YOURasp for Hosted Email Filtering

Marshal8e6,a global provider of email and Web security, today sealed a deal that will see  YOURasp,  a hosted application, internet and email provider, purchase MailMarshal’s Service Provider Edition (SPE).

A spokesperson for Marshal8e6 said the deal would enable YOURasp's 400 resellers to provide their customers “with a robust and scalable hosted email screening service that will give businesses secure access to email.”

According to Bob Grove, YOURasp’s regional sales manager, YOURasp reviewed several solutions available with strict criteria and in order to service an ever-growing number of email users, the solution needed to be multi-tenanted and pay-as-you-go to allow for easy scalability.

“For YOURasp's resellers, it needed to be flexible to allow for customisation and have the capacity for bundling and rebranding with other products to assist resellers in developing relationships with their customers, and our decision to go with Marshal8e6 was influenced by its highly customisable screening process.”

Bob Grove said the company conducted a customer satisfaction survey and found that their email partners needed a cleaner, more secure service so their business customers would have the cleanest and most secure email service available. “Marshal SPE was the only service that satisfied all of our criteria and, in addition, the local Marshal8e6 support team knows the ANZ market very well and have provided us with direct access to their product architects and developers."

"We needed a screening process that would complement the services we currently host and support our extensive partner channel," said Mr Grove. "MailMarshal SPE's unique screening process categorises email and then allows users to determine how that categorised email is to be processed further."

According to Jeremy Hulse, Marshal8e6's Vice President APAC, “businesses are becoming wary of the need to employ tighter content filtering solutions.

"It's interesting to see that there has been a lot of discussion in Australia about ISP filtering at a consumer level. However as YOURasp have found, many businesses are starting to request a higher level of content filtering to ensure their customers and staff are protected online."

YOURasp said it would offer MailMarshal SPE bundled with Microsoft Exchange Server to its 400 active resellers.
