Telstra has revealed the addition of almost one million new mobile services in the six months to December 2011, but Sensis revenues plummeted 24 percent in 12 months.
Nokia has signed up Australian independent label Liberation Music for its Comes With Music service, soon to be launched in Australia, and has announced a new phone that will offer the CWM service.
Australia will be only the second country to get the service which offers buyers of certain Nokia handsets unlimited music downloads at no additional charge for one year. They can retain these tracks on the handset and a single PC indefinitely.
Nokia says that Liberation Music and its associated labels "have an unrivalled and diverse Australian roster of artists including Jimmy Barnes, Bliss 'n Eso, Josh Pyke, diesel, Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson, The Temper Trap, Troy Cassar-Daley and many more."
Nokia Australia says it will announce its Comes with Music enabled devices in Australia by end of March 2009. The service is sold in the UK on the 5310 which has been described a rather outdated. Nokia's first touchphone the 5800 will support Comes With Music but Nokia is yet to launch this combination.
Renegadefanboy.com "an irregular publication on love and hate of Nokia devices and software," claims to have collected all steps leading to a 5800 with a Comes with Music package." He/She has the 5800 Comes With Music launching first in India, this month, and in the UK, in Q2. He claims an 'official' date for the Australian launch of the 5800 of 25 March at a 'rumoured' price of $572. NZ release is also officially slated for the current quarter.

Nokia announced on 10 February the 5630 XpressMusic, billed as "a new ultra-slim S60 device that offers a complete entertainment experience, letting individuals quickly and easily play music, videos and games, as well as share content."
Features include a 4GB memory card for storing up to 3000 tracks, with option to upgrade up to 16GB microSD memory card, support for all main digital music formats, a 3.5 mm AV jack and Nokia's voice-controlled 'Say and Play' voice recognition feature.
