Even the customer quotes seem to damn with faint praise: "With all components of SAP Business Suite on the same release cycle, the costs associated with implementation and testing of new functionality are greatly reduced," said Ed Toben, SVP, GIT & Business Services, Colgate-Palmolive.
There might be something interesting in the "150 functional innovations", but they appear to be limited to the add-on enhancement packages.
One aspect that does deserve attention is the inclusion of "select analytics capabilities of the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio".
Analytics are of growing importance to many companies, and making them a part of the core product seems a sensible way to go.
And if SOA is your thing, Business Suite 7 provides more than 2800 services.
But you can't help feeling cynical when the people most excited about the launch are those that make money from installation projects - companies such as Atos Origin, IBM Global Business Services, and Wipro.
If your company is a SAP site and you can see something useful and innovative in Business Suite 7 (as opposed to fixing old mistakes), please share the good news in the forum.
