SAS establishes new Australian role in sustainability management

IT Industry - Market

The Australia arm of SAS, the business analytics software and independent business intelligence vendor, has appointed Warren Donnelly as head of Sustainability Management, SAS Australia & New Zealand.

Based at the company’s region head office in Sydney, Warren Donnelly joined SAS in 2007 and was most recently solution manager, Performance Management, SAS Australia & New Zealand.

SAS Australia and New Zealand managing director Gordon Clubb, said today that Donnelly would help the company address the “gathering global imperative to be able to predict and respond to environmental, social and economic risks and opportunities across both public and private sector organisations.”

Clubb said Donnelly had already taken the lead in successfully introducing the SAS for Sustainability Management solution to the education sector and, he claimed, many Australian universities which were SAS customers had expressed formal interest in adopting the solution.

"Sustainability and Green IT will not be looked at in isolation in the coming years. Organisations will need to understand the impact on corporate goals and objectives more and more – not simply if green targets are being met".

Announcing this new appointment, SAS Australia and New Zealand managing director Gordon Clubb said, "Already an accomplished practitioner with the Sustainability Management solution, Warren's background in both corporate performance management and senior financial roles make him superbly well qualified for his important new responsibilities.

He added, "sustainability and Green IT will not be looked at in isolation in the coming years. Organisations will need to understand the impact on corporate goals and objectives more and more – not simply if green targets are being met."

Before joining SAS, Donnelly spent seven years with Sun Microsystems and five years with Compaq/Digital.  He also held CFO and other senior financial positions throughout APAC in Venture Capital funding, Manufacturing, Advertising and IT.
